Sunbird Tour Prices

Last summer when rising fuel prices were dramatically affecting the airline industry, we were finding it very difficult to obtain accurate quotes for airfares for our 2009 tours when we costed those tours in August 2008. Because of this we decided to change the way we present tour prices on our website.

We now show the price broken down into two elements. Firstly there is the basic cost of the tour which includes everything except the cost of the international flights from the UK.  Next to this we show what was our best estimate of the flight costs for the tour last August.  Oil prices have recently crashed and we should see a drop in airfares as a result. When we send out the invoices for the tour we will only charge you the exact airfare that we have been able to obtain, and we hope that many of these will be less than currently shown.

Surcharges

Shortly after we published our 2009 tour prices last August, the pound began a dramatic slide against the US dollar and the Euro. As many  tour costs are sold to us in these currencies, these elements are likely to cost us more than they would have done when we produced our prices.  At the time we come to send out the invoice for the final balance we will need to re-cost the tour using the exchange rate current at the time. Although we will do all we can to absorb increases, we may be forced to pass some of them on in the form of an exchange rate surcharge.
