If there is one aspect of watching wildlife that has changed with the coming of the digital age, it is photography. More and more people are now interested in not only travelling to see wildlfe, but also capturing images of what they see, and sharing those images with the rest of the world via websites and blogs. Although many people who come with us on our birdwatching tours take photos, a bird tour does not really give ardent photographers the opportunities they really need to get that definitive shot. Apart from anything else, bird tours tend to keep on the move, and as any serious photographer will tell you, to get the best shot you need time and patience to wait for that perfect photo opportunity to come along. To that end, Sunbird has teamed up with award winning wildlife photograher, David Tipling to offer a series of exclusive photographic tours. These will not be birdwatching tours. They will be designed by David specifically with photograhers in mind, putting you in the best position and giving you the time needed. David will be on hand to offer informal advice and instruction so these tours would suit someone just starting out as well as the more seasoned photographer.
David Tipling is a seasoned tour leader with extensive experience of photographing in East Africa and in particular at this time of year. Unlike many photographic tours that promise to get you in good photographic positions but nothing more, David will, throughout the tour, provide ideas for shooting subjects in varied ways, passing on his own tips and techniques developed from 18 years as a professional.
